In this thesis we analyse the effects of the Casimir energy in a compactification of Supergravity on a 7D internal Bieberbach manifold, first deriving the linearised equations of motion for the 4D fields and the resulting spectrum and then explicitly calculating the Casimir energy contribution to the effective potential at 1-loop.
