The focus of this thesis sometimes embraces the theme of filmic self-portraiture within experimental and amateur cinema. The aim of the research is to bring these filmic forms closer to a single element: the personal experience of the artist and of the amateur filmmaker, through the analysis of home movies and private collections. The reflection also extends to the role of archives in the preservation of materials, in technical restoration, and in the valorization of film reels. The work highlights the ways in which family films, film diaries, and experimental nuances costituite cultural and historical documents, capable of conveying memory and identity, and of reminding us that every film fragment participates in a collective history.

Abstract
The focus of this thesis sometimes embraces the theme of filmic self-portraiture within experimental and amateur cinema. The aim of the research is to bring these filmic forms closer to a single element: the personal experience of the artist and of the amateur filmmaker, through the analysis of home movies and private collections. The reflection also extends to the role of archives in the preservation of materials, in technical restoration, and in the valorization of film reels. The work highlights the ways in which family films, film diaries, and experimental nuances costituite cultural and historical documents, capable of conveying memory and identity, and of reminding us that every film fragment participates in a collective history.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
