This fondness was shown in a great deal of his writings and was called in various manners, such as “febbre lenta di Lockismo” and “anglomania”. This thesis will investigate the thoughts harboured by Algarotti regarding eminent characters the likes of Alexander Pope, Joseph Addison and Jonathan Swift.
L’ammirazione del conte Francesco Algarotti per la cultura britannica trovò espressione in molteplici ambiti e venne definita con svariate nomenclature, da “febbre lenta di Lockismo” ad “anglomania”. Il presente elaborato indaga la visione nutrita dal letterato veneziano nei confronti di rilevanti figure culturali quali Alexander Pope, Joseph Addison e Jonathan Swift.
