Aspect in Mandarin can be divided into situation aspect and viewpoint aspect. The latter, also known as grammatical aspect, includes the perfective markers: -le and -guò, and the imperfective markers -zài and -zhe. The acquisition order of these markers has long been a central topic. previous studies have mainly focused on the semantic regularities behind the acquisition process, leaving the syntactic dimension less explored. This study presents a longitudinal investigation of two Mandarin-speaking children (1;8-3;4), using the Growing Tree Hypothesis and the Dominance-Recessiveness framework. Results indicate that aspectual markers are acquired in an upward syntactic order( -le, -guò, then -zhe), though deviations still exist due to the multi functionality of these markers in Mandarin. These results highlights both the syntactic regularities and the interfering factors in the acquisition of aspect in child Mandarin, contributing to a more detailed understanding of aspect acquisition from a syntactic perspective.

Abstract
These results highlights both the syntactic regularities and the interfering factors in the acquisition of aspect in child Mandarin, contributing to a more detailed understanding of aspect acquisition from a syntactic perspective.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
