Abstract
Pressure relief valves have really complex dynamics, they are highly stressed and easily subject to instability. The behaviour of a small-sized relief valve for aeronautical applications has been investigated. The valve often shows chattering, that is, uncontrolled oscillations during operation. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations were carried out along with experimental tests, in order to deeply understand the behaviour of the flow in several conditions and propose alternative designs. That allowed to build a broader know-how, useful for future design.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
