This thesis analyzes rave culture in Italy as a phenomenon of social and cultural resistance, with particular attention to its development following the so-called “Rave Decree” of 2022. Its aim is to understand how rave parties, originally born in the United Kingdom as a collective response to the systemic oppression of Thatcherism and the inequalities of neoliberal society, have found in Italy their own forms of survival and adaptation, despite repeated attempts at repression. Through a perspective that intertwines cultural studies, the sociology of music, and theories of power, combined with a legal analysis, the thesis demonstrates that, beyond the Rave Decree, Italian rave culture continues to exist and reinvent itself, confirming its nature as a fluid, resilient, and profoundly political movement, capable of enduring and transforming alongside the shifts of the contemporary world.

Abstract
This thesis analyzes rave culture in Italy as a phenomenon of social and cultural resistance, with particular attention to its development following the so-called “Rave Decree” of 2022. Its aim is to understand how rave parties, originally born in the United Kingdom as a collective response to the systemic oppression of Thatcherism and the inequalities of neoliberal society, have found in Italy their own forms of survival and adaptation, despite repeated attempts at repression. Through a perspective that intertwines cultural studies, the sociology of music, and theories of power, combined with a legal analysis, the thesis demonstrates that, beyond the Rave Decree, Italian rave culture continues to exist and reinvent itself, confirming its nature as a fluid, resilient, and profoundly political movement, capable of enduring and transforming alongside the shifts of the contemporary world.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
