This research focuses on examining deforestation risks related to the import of forest-risk commodities by Italy and listed in EU Deforestation Regulations (EUDR) along with direct and indirect trade flows of Italy and learn how they contribute to the land-use change in producing countries. This research focuses on soy and bovine product commodities listed in Annex I. This research uses the LAFO v2.0 model while focusing on a physical-based accounting approach to link trade and production data from the last 10 years (2014-2023), providing a clear picture of the global land footprint of Italy. The research also aims to explore how these commodities influence the socio-economic factors of exporting countries.
