This thesis introduces a fluid-structure interaction (FSI) approach for modeling the dynamic behavior of a single cell parafoil, with applications in aerospace deceleration systems. Parafoils, being highly flexible and nonlinear aerodynamic structures, pose significant challenges in predictive simulation. An implicit two- way coupled FSI model is proposed to evaluate the canopy deformation under fluid loading, using ANSYS Multiphysics tools.

Abstract
This thesis introduces a fluid-structure interaction (FSI) approach for modeling the dynamic behavior of a single cell parafoil, with applications in aerospace deceleration systems. Parafoils, being highly flexible and nonlinear aerodynamic structures, pose significant challenges in predictive simulation. An implicit two- way coupled FSI model is proposed to evaluate the canopy deformation under fluid loading, using ANSYS Multiphysics tools.File in questo prodotto:
