The study aims to identify and quantify the main benefits delivered by a specific class of fabric care products when used on garments during a washing cycle in a front-load washing machine. The primary benefits investigated are softness, freshness, and fabric care. After a brief definition of each benefit, their quantification is carried out using various instruments, including optical microscopy, confocal microscopy, SEM, a VOC analyzer, and SIFT. Thereafter, the corresponding perceived benefit for consumers is also discussed. While the study provides a practical identification and quantification of the benefits, it can also serve as a methodological guide to understanding which instruments are most effective in measuring specific aspects.
Lo studio ha l'obiettivo di identificare e quantificare i principali benefici offerti da una specifica categoria di prodotti per la cura dei tessuti, quando utilizzati su capi durante un ciclo di lavaggio effettuato usando una lavatrice a carica frontale. I benefici principali analizzati sono morbidezza, freschezza e cura del tessuto. Dopo una breve definizione di ciascun beneficio, la loro quantificazione viene effettuata mediante l’uso di diversi strumenti, tra cui microscopia ottica, microscopia confocale, SEM, un analizzatore di VOC e SIFT. Viene inoltre discusso il beneficio percepito dai consumatori. Sebbene lo studio fornisca un’analisi pratica dei benefici identificati e quantificati, esso può anche essere considerato una guida metodologica per comprendere quali strumenti siano più efficaci nel misurare determinati aspetti.
