The present work deals with testing and analysing interpolation structures in Triestino in which the inseparable nexus between clitic and verb is interrupted by adverbial elements. In particular, the aim is to verify whether the analysis of interpolation structures of Cosentino proposed by Ledgeway and Lombardi (2005) is also valid for interpolation structures of Triestino. A specific survey to test interpolation structures was constructed and submitted to a sample of speakers. Thanks to the data collected through this survey it was possible to verify that the analysis of Ledgeway and Lombardi of interpolation structures of Cosentino is not applicable to Triestino. So, we proposed our analysis of interpolation structures in Triestino: the adverb would rise to a position of specifier of FocusP in the left periphery of the sentence, the clitic would rise to a Wackernagel position as a head and the verb would normally rise to the head position of FocusP and would thus be preceded by the adverb.

Abstract
So, we proposed our analysis of interpolation structures in Triestino: the adverb would rise to a position of specifier of FocusP in the left periphery of the sentence, the clitic would rise to a Wackernagel position as a head and the verb would normally rise to the head position of FocusP and would thus be preceded by the adverb.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
