The protection of Medical Facilities and Medical personnel is the basis of the regulatory framework of international humanitarian law. Through legal analysis of cases in which the latter has been violated, it is possible to note how, despite the clarity of the legal norms established, such violations are not only recurrent but often go unpunished, revealing a troubling gap between law and practice.
