In this study, the relationships between the vegetation and the morphological evolution of the Torrente Torre (high Friulian plain) over the last 200 years (period 1805-2021) have been analyzed. 6 sections of the river have been taken into consideration in its portion on the plain. The planimetric evolution of the river was studied through historical cartography, historical orthophotos and satellite images. The altimetric evolution of the torrent was studied using DTM for the period 1805-2008 and by field measurements for the period 2008-2021. Vegetation was studied by stratified random sampling. The nested plot methodology was used to sample tree, shrub and herbaceous vegetation. The analyzes carried out have shown which components of the vegetation are most linked to the different types of river surface taken into consideration (river island, floodplain, river terrace). Furthermore, biodiversity was analyzed through diversity indices. Furthermore, the relationship between invasive alien species and native species was analyzed. From the results it is evident that from 1805 to today there have been strong incision and narrowing processes of the active channel of the Torrente Torre. Furthermore, the component of vegetation linked to floodplain environments has suffered negative effects from geomorphological changes.
