This thesis aims to compare and analyse different passages taken from several works by Pierre de Ronsard and from the Romance of the Rose. It is based on three different essays by three scholars, François Rouget, Albert Pauphilet and Henry Guy. The comparisons that these authors draw between the verses of Ronsard’s poems and the verses of the work of Guillaume de Lorris and Jeun de Meun that would have inspired him are often dismissed with superficial analyses, without the two texts examining in detail. As a consequence, our purpose is to deepen these same comparisons, to try to find new extracts that could have inspired Ronsard and to observe which elements of the source Ronsard has preserved, modified or even completely ignored, namely regarding the conception of love.

Abstract
This thesis aims to compare and analyse different passages taken from several works by Pierre de Ronsard and from the Romance of the Rose. It is based on three different essays by three scholars, François Rouget, Albert Pauphilet and Henry Guy. The comparisons that these authors draw between the verses of Ronsard’s poems and the verses of the work of Guillaume de Lorris and Jeun de Meun that would have inspired him are often dismissed with superficial analyses, without the two texts examining in detail. As a consequence, our purpose is to deepen these same comparisons, to try to find new extracts that could have inspired Ronsard and to observe which elements of the source Ronsard has preserved, modified or even completely ignored, namely regarding the conception of love.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
