This thesis aims to analyze the work of Belluno-based writer Francesco Vidotto through the tools of literary geography and geocriticism, placing it in the context of the Alpine Renaissance that characterizes 21st-century Italian fiction. The aim of the research is to demonstrate how, in the author's poetics, the mountains, and specifically the microcosm of Cadore, do not serve as a mere aesthetic backdrop but act as a true narrative agent capable of shaping the identity of the characters and defining a precise system of values. The investigation begins with a theoretical framework on the relationship between space and text (chapter 1), and then develops an original interpretative model called the Narrative Triangle, whose inseparable vertices, Landscape, Character, and Ethics, constitute the backbone of Vidotto's narrative (chapter 2). This model is then applied to the philological analysis of the author's key works (chapter 3). The critical journey concludes with an unpublished dialogue with the author (chapter 4), which explores the concept of ‘Rock aesthetics’ understood as authenticity and subtraction, confirming how the ink trails traced by Vidotto constitute not only a geographical map but also an ethical one, opposing the liquidity of urban modernity with the solidity of memory and care for the territory.

Abstract
The critical journey concludes with an unpublished dialogue with the author (chapter 4), which explores the concept of ‘Rock aesthetics’ understood as authenticity and subtraction, confirming how the ink trails traced by Vidotto constitute not only a geographical map but also an ethical one, opposing the liquidity of urban modernity with the solidity of memory and care for the territory.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
