This work examines the domain of inhabiting through the tension in considering that as a fundamental right or a speculative resource. Specifically, the use of the window serves its purpose as an analytical and critical lens. Far from being a mere architectural element, the window is considered a threshold between the external landscape and the domestic interior. In its ability to generate psychological well-being, the window serves as a potent indicator of social and spatial privilege. The study contends that the visual access to the landscape is not a neutral commodity, but a boundary separating those who hold the "right to the gaze" from those excluded from it. This asymmetry is explored through the critical urban context of Padua. In this context, the housing crisis and soaring rents coexist with a systematic geography of abandonment and a high number of vacant dwellings. In this scenario, the window becomes a tool to expose a fragmented landscape, in this scenario the home is deprived of its social function and reduced to a mere exchange value. Through the examination of specific territorial dynamics and the management of building heritage, this research highlights the necessity of getting past the narrative of the house as a financial asset. The intent is to reclaim an inclusive urban landscape, where the acts of looking out the window and inhabiting one’s home are restored as collective demands and guaranteed rights, moving beyond the logic of exclusion.

Abstract
The intent is to reclaim an inclusive urban landscape, where the acts of looking out the window and inhabiting one’s home are restored as collective demands and guaranteed rights, moving beyond the logic of exclusion.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
