This thesis aims to explore the organizational structures and evaluation systems of Centres for Men Who Use Violence (CUAV) in three Italian regions. The analysis begins by addressing gender-based violence as a social phenomenon that affects society at multiple levels, as evidenced by data at both the European and global levels. The objective is to examine what gender-based violence is and how it manifests, to describe its underlying causes and psychosocial dynamics, and subsequently to analyse prevention and intervention services, with particular attention to those aimed at men who use or are presumed to use violence. This research seeks to shift the focus away from victims in order to investigate the prevention of male violence against women by starting from men themselves. Specifically, this thesis aims to understand how the organizational practices of CUAV influence their perceived effectiveness, through an analysis of objectives, methodologies, and techniques for evaluating change. To this end, professionals working in CUAV, who engage with this issue on a daily basis, were interviewed, drawing on their situated and experiential knowledge.
