The space of photoliterature may be understood as a constellation of heterogeneous practices in which the verbal and the visual are mutually redefined. Within this context, "The Ongoing Moment” by Geoff Dyer represents an exemplary case: the work traverses the photographic imagination of the twentieth century by weaving a network of resonances, echoes, and variations among images. This thesis examines the forms of photoliterature that inform Dyer’s writing, showing how photography operates within it not merely as a theme but as a narrative principle. Situated within the framework of visual studies and intermediality, and in dialogue with the thought of John Berger, the study explores how Dyer’s writing becomes the space in which the intericonic logic of the photographic emerges, where the gaze is defined as an experience that is at once cognitive and affective.

Abstract
The space of photoliterature may be understood as a constellation of heterogeneous practices in which the verbal and the visual are mutually redefined. Within this context, "The Ongoing Moment” by Geoff Dyer represents an exemplary case: the work traverses the photographic imagination of the twentieth century by weaving a network of resonances, echoes, and variations among images. This thesis examines the forms of photoliterature that inform Dyer’s writing, showing how photography operates within it not merely as a theme but as a narrative principle. Situated within the framework of visual studies and intermediality, and in dialogue with the thought of John Berger, the study explores how Dyer’s writing becomes the space in which the intericonic logic of the photographic emerges, where the gaze is defined as an experience that is at once cognitive and affective.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
