Equilibri precari tra tempi di lavoro e tempi familiari tra le migranti cinesi in Italia

The Chinese "community" in Italy, although formed in fairly recent times, presents characteristics and methods of settlement, organisation and exploitation of the territory similar to other Chinese communities around the world. The Chinese community has developed rapidly and is characterised by some specific ways of entering the labour market. The object of this thesis is Chinese women immigrants in Italy. The paper is divided into five chapters. The introduction presents the context, purpose, content and methodology of the research. The first chapter is dedicated to a reflection on the different approaches used and the link between the development of feminism and the study of gender and gender differences in relation to social roles. In this second chapter, through the analysis of previous research, the objectives of the research and the theoretical framework of reference are clarified. In the third chapter, the working condition of Chinese women in Italy is presented. In particular, taking into consideration the differences between the destination society and the country of origin, the adaptation processes of a group labelled as "closed" as the Chinese community in Italy will be analysed. It will then analyse the reasons that led the participants to immigrate to Italy, and their career path. The fourth chapter deals with the relationship between work and family in the immigrant community in general: how is this phenomenon experienced in different countries? How is the situation for Chinese women immigrants in Italy? In the fifth chapter, some specific cases are analysed in order to investigate the conflict between work and family for Chinese migrant women and to identify how they reconcile work and family. Finally, an interpretation of the research findings in relation to the various factors that may explain work-family tensions is proposed.In modern society, the search for fulfilment in work and a dignified and happy family life is an important aspect. However, due to individuals' limited resources in terms of time, the occurrence of individual work-family conflicts cannot be easily avoided.

La “comunità” cinese in Italia, pur essendosi formata in tempi piuttosto recenti, presenta caratteristiche e modalità di insediamento, organizzazione e sfruttamento del territorio simile ad altre comunità cinesi sparse per il mondo.La comunità cinese si è sviluppata rapidamente ed è caratterizzata da alcune specifiche modalità di inserimento nel mercato di lavoro. L’oggetto di ricerca di questo lavoro di tesi sono le donne cinesi immigrate in Italia. L’elaborato si suddivide in cinque capitoli. La introduzione è che presenta il contesto, lo scopo, il contenuto e la metodologia della ricerca. Il primo capitolo è dedicato ad una riflessione sui diversi approcci utilizzati e al legame tra lo sviluppo del femminismo e lo studio del genere e delle differenze tra generi in relazione al ruolo sociale. In questo secondo capitolo, attraverso l’analisi di ricerche precedenti, vengono chiariti gli obiettivi della ricerca e il quadro teorico di riferimento. Nel terzo capitolo viene presentata la condizione lavorativa delle donne cinesi in Italia. In particolare, prendendo in considerazione le differenze esistenti tra la società di destinazione e il paese di origine, si analizzeranno i processi di adattamento di un gruppo etichettato come “chiuso” come quello della comunità cinese in Italia. In seguito si analizzeranno i motivi che hanno spinto le partecipanti ad immigrare in Italia, e il loro percorso lavorativo. Il quarto capitolo affronta invece il rapporto tra lavoro e famiglia nella comunità immigrata in generale: come viene vissuto in diversi paesi questo fenomeno? Com’è la situazione per le donne cinesi immigrate in Italia? Nel quinto capitolo, vengono analizzati alcuni casi specifici, al fine di indagare il conflitto tra lavoro e famiglia per le donne cinesi migranti e individuare in che modo queste conciliano il lavoro e la famiglia. Infine si propone un’interpretazione di quanto emerso dalla ricerca in relazione ai vari fattori che possono spiegare le tensioni tra lavoro e famiglia.Nella società moderna, la ricerca della realizzazione nel lavoro e di una vita familiare dignitoso e felice è un aspetto importante. Tuttavia, a causa delle risorse limitate degli individui in termini di tempo, il verificarsi di conflitti individuali tra lavoro-famiglia non può essere facilmente evitato.
