River levees are essential flood-protection structures whose performance depends on soil properties, hydrological conditions, and the reliability of monitoring systems. This thesis presents a geotechnical characterization and monitoring analysis of river levees located at Bevazzana along the Tagliamento River. Laboratory soil classification tests are performed to classify the levee materials and describe their geotechnical characteristics. In addition, monitoring data recorded by sensors installed at different depths within the levee are analyzed to interpret signal behaviour, assess sensor performance, and identify non-physical anomalies affecting data reliability. The results provide a qualitative understanding of levee behaviour and safety conditions, highlighting the importance of reliable monitoring data and careful interpretation of sensor signals for levee management.
