Recurrent rainfall-induced landslides across southern and southeastern Brazil frequently strike densely populated regions, causing severe human and economic losses, which are increased by irregular land occupation and the lack of adequate urban planning. In the municipality of Blumenau (Santa Catarina, Brazil), the history of hydrometeorological disasters driven by intense and prolonged rainfall is well-documented, with numerous events recorded by the Municipal Civil Defense (Defesa Civil). These landslides are closely linked to rainfall intensity and duration, factors that dictate the initiation of shallow failures and debris flows. This study aims at defining the rainfall condition associated with landslide triggering in the study area and at the definition of the rainfall threshold. A standardized procedure of identifying, calibrating and validating the thresholds will be applied.

Abstract
A standardized procedure of identifying, calibrating and validating the thresholds will be applied.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
