This thesis analyzes the role of integration mechanisms in supporting innovation within contexts characterized by organizational modularity. The initial chapters provide a comprehensive overview of product modularity, organizational modularity, and the relationship between them, subsequently examining the main differences between modular and traditional structures. The thesis also explores how organizational modularity can foster innovation processes, while at the same time highlighting its limitations and key trade-offs. Particular attention is directed toward the analysis of integration mechanisms and their contribution to promoting and coordinating innovation within modular organizations. The theoretical considerations are ultimately supported through the analysis of a specific case study.

Abstract
This thesis analyzes the role of integration mechanisms in supporting innovation within contexts characterized by organizational modularity. The initial chapters provide a comprehensive overview of product modularity, organizational modularity, and the relationship between them, subsequently examining the main differences between modular and traditional structures. The thesis also explores how organizational modularity can foster innovation processes, while at the same time highlighting its limitations and key trade-offs. Particular attention is directed toward the analysis of integration mechanisms and their contribution to promoting and coordinating innovation within modular organizations. The theoretical considerations are ultimately supported through the analysis of a specific case study.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
