Physical activity during developmental age represents a fundamental element for the proper development of motor skills and the promotion of health. In recent years, growing sedentary behavior and restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic have sparked particular interest regarding the potential effects on the motor performance of children and adolescents. The present study aims to analyze the trend of motor skills in lower secondary school students between 2015 and 2025, by comparing data collected in the pre-pandemic and post-pandemic periods. Standardized tests relating to aerobic endurance, lower limb strength, upper limb strength, and speed were examined. The analysis was conducted by dividing students by grade level and sex, in order to account for differences related to biological and pubertal maturation. The results highlight a variable trend in motor skills over the years. The study confirms the importance of monitoring motor skills within the school environment and underscores the role of physical activity in preventing the decline of motor fitness during developmental age. The results obtained can provide useful insights for planning targeted interventions aimed at promoting physical activity and well-being among young people.

Abstract
The results obtained can provide useful insights for planning targeted interventions aimed at promoting physical activity and well-being among young people.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
