“Napoli milionaria!” (1945) by Eduardo De Filippo is one of the most important works of the author's dramaturgy, as well as a turning point in his production, and overall in the history of Italian theatre. This study project proposes a critical and commented edition that retraces the initial stages of the comedy, which redactions constitute key witnesses for the variant reconstruction of its first phase. With the aim of reconstructing a comprehensive picture of the written history of "Napoli milionaria!", the thesis presents the transcription of three versions of the text: the first one is the manuscript version (1945), accompanied by a critical apparatus that reports the genetic and evolutionary variants of the text; the second one, published in print by Einaudi for the “Piccola Biblioteca Scientifico-Letteraria” series, volume 20 (1950); the third one, in the first Einaudi edition of the "Cantata dei giorni dispari" (1951). Each of the transcriptions also includes a critical-philological commentary analyzing the fundamental characteristics of the variants and redactions. The dissertation presents a critical corpus consisting of "Premise", "Introduction" and Conclusions" which propose, respectively, a history of Eduardian criticism from the 1930s to the present day, an analysis of "Napoli milionaria!" and the philological importance of its early stages and, finally, the presentation of the resulting research potential.
Napoli milionaria!

Abstract
The dissertation presents a critical corpus consisting of "Premise", "Introduction" and Conclusions" which propose, respectively, a history of Eduardian criticism from the 1930s to the present day, an analysis of "Napoli milionaria!" and the philological importance of its early stages and, finally, the presentation of the resulting research potential.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
