This thesis work develops and applies a methodological procedure based on topic modeling techniques to enhance the informational heritage contained in the narrative interview notes of the Listening Centers of the Diocesan Caritas of Treviso. The objective is to transform the free texts written by operators into structured knowledge supporting decision-making, in full compliance with the confidentiality of sensitive data. On the methodological level, the thesis compares the parametric Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) model and its non-parametric extension, the Hierarchical Dirichlet Process (HDP). In the HDP, by integrating thematic distributions with the socio-demographic variables of the beneficiaries, a strong polarization of the clientele emerges: on one hand, the topic of housing emergencies and the need for rapid bureaucratic support for young foreign men; on the other, the support of families with a deep-rooted presence in the territory facing health, economic, and relational vulnerabilities. The study shows how text analysis makes it possible to go beyond the rigidity of traditional indicators, providing the management of an organization with a fact-based, scalable, and transferable tool with which to plan services.

Abstract
The study shows how text analysis makes it possible to go beyond the rigidity of traditional indicators, providing the management of an organization with a fact-based, scalable, and transferable tool with which to plan services.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
