This thesis examines three buildings located in Piazza Insurrezione in Padua, the former Istituto Nazionale Fascista della Previdenza Sociale (INFPS), Palazzo Olivieri-Frigo, and the present-day Chamber of Commerce building, by reconstructing the historical events that led to their construction. The research begins with the demolition of the Santa Lucia neighbourhood and the subsequent redevelopment of the site to create a new urban space, which embodies the architectural language promoted by the Fascist regime. The study then reconstructs the iconographic meaning of the decorative schemes of the three buildings, highlighting how these ensembles still constitute a significant testimony to Fascist art and continue to convey the values, political vision, and ambitions promoted by the dictatorship. By analysing the decorations and their continued presence in the contemporary public sphere, the thesis reflects on the challenges associated with the preservation, contextualization, and public interpretation of a historical and artistic heritage that is profoundly shaped by its ideological character.

Abstract
By analysing the decorations and their continued presence in the contemporary public sphere, the thesis reflects on the challenges associated with the preservation, contextualization, and public interpretation of a historical and artistic heritage that is profoundly shaped by its ideological character.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
