In Egypt, at the dawn of Coptic Orthodox monasticism, the first monastery owes its name to the founding father Saint Anthony who played a decisive role in establishing this tenet. This desert complex remains till now a living oasis that adapts to an unstopping moving world. At the turn of the 21st century, a deep interest in heritage was rooted in this establishment. In a rising environmental awareness era, the attachment to ascetic precepts, the evolution and adaptation of innovation techniques to the arid desert, as well as the powerful desire for preservation, gave rise to a heritage whose characteristics foreshadow many contemporary sustainable development principles. Rediscovering the traces of an ancestral tradition from an emerging concept is the essence of this academic dissertation, aiming to highlight the past’s key role in sustainable cultural heritage management, oriented towards a more responsible future.

Abstract
Rediscovering the traces of an ancestral tradition from an emerging concept is the essence of this academic dissertation, aiming to highlight the past’s key role in sustainable cultural heritage management, oriented towards a more responsible future.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
