The study examines asthma, specifically its development in the paediatric age and the importance of symptom control and physical exercise in these subjects. It is a chronic disease that can develop in every stage of life. However, the first symptoms often appear at an early age. It affects the child's life as well as the lives of the respective parents. More generally, it revolves around the child's life. Numerous studies and research have demonstrated the importance of therapeutic education in symptom control and consequently in the possibility of carrying out targeted and structured physical exercise for these children. This study explores asthma, considering incidence, causes, risk factors, signs and symptoms, diagnosis and therapy, the role of therapeutic education, the control of asthma, non-drug therapy and the practice of physical exercise and sports activities. The main objective is to promote physical exercise and sports activities in asthmatic children. However, they usually are refrained from physical activities as the parents believe that these activities would damage the child's health. The methodology used for this study included various studies of the subject and scientific articles. The studies demonstrate that good control of the disease in children who practice physical exercise and sports activities improve their quality of life, resulting in less school absenteeism and a decrease in visits and hospital admissions. In addition, physical exercise enables a balanced growth of the child and can promote a beneficial action of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems. The effectiveness of physical exercise and sports practice has been demonstrated in numerous studies and has a dual role of prevention, improvement, reduction of symptoms, and guarantee to improve the child's quality of life and psycho-physical well-being for its normal development.
