INVESTIMENTI COMPENSATIVI VOLONTARI NEL SETTORE FORESTALE PER LA RIDUZIONE DI GAS SERRA: ORGANIZZAZIONE DEL MERCATO, RISCHI E POTENZIALITAâ

Il mercato volontario del carbonio offre lâ opportunità di acquistare crediti di emissione di CO2 da progetti realizzati nel settore forestale per compensare emissioni relative ad una qualsiasi attività . In questo lavoro vengono, nella prima parte, analizzate le principali caratteristiche di questo nuovo mercato in progressiva espansione: la sua struttura, i soggetti coinvolti, le dimensioni, le tipologie di progetto, gli standard appositamente sviluppati ed i punti critici. Lâ attenzione viene successivamente indirizzata ai progetti forestali sviluppati per assorbire gas serra e alle caratteristiche che devono essere garantite nella loro realizzazione affinché assicurino unâ azione concreta ed efficace nella mitigazione del riscaldamento globale. Lâ ultimo capitolo è dedicato alla presentazione delle principali agenzie di servizio italiane e di alcuni progetti forestali realizzati sul territorio nazionale. Viene infine proposto un confronto tra i progetti in questione rispetto ad uno standard sviluppato dal DEFRA, il Draft Code of Best Practice for Carbon Offset Providers. This study firstly gives details about the new growing market such as structure, agents involved in, standards, problems and than describes the main characteristics that forestry projects for GHG reduction should guarantee to ensure a reliable action against global warming. The second part of the research deals with some forest offset projects realized in Italy by different local offset providers. These projects are analysed and compared using the â Draft Code of Best Practice for Carbon Offset Providers. Accreditation requirements and proceduresâ defined by DEFRA.
