Deprotonation of bis(imidazolium) salt 1,1’-dimethyl-3,3’-methylenediimidazolium diiodide or 1,1’-dimethyl-3,3’-ethylenediimidazolium dibromide, whit silver oxide in dichloromethane afford a silver-carbene complex. This silver-carbene complexes undergoes a facile reaction of transmetallation with Ruthenium 1,5-cycloottadiene precursor. The same deprotonation can be obtained by using an external base like sodium acetate or by using a ruthenium precursor with the base (acetato) in the coordination sphere of the metal. These metods provides novel approach to the synthesis of carbene complex of Ruthenium(II). The product abtained are analyzed using NMR spectroscopies. The molecular structure of one biscarbene complex are report and are determinate by X-ray crystalography, which exibith the six-coordinate octahedral geometry with two carbene carbon atoms from the bidentate NHCs, and two molecules of solvent (CH3CN) in the trans configuration.

Abstract
The molecular structure of one biscarbene complex are report and are determinate by X-ray crystalography, which exibith the six-coordinate octahedral geometry with two carbene carbon atoms from the bidentate NHCs, and two molecules of solvent (CH3CN) in the trans configuration.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
