Eternità e tempo: studio della dottrina agostiniana delle ragioni causali nel De genesi ad Litteram

L'oggetto d'interesse principale della tesi, è rappresentato dalla dottrina Agostiniana delle Rationes causales, uno dei temi più importanti e innovativi contenuti nel De genesi ad litteram. Tale dottrina, sorta nell'ambito del maggior commentario esegetico dedicato da Agostino al libro della genesi, costituisce uno dei cardini della natura filosofica agostiniana della creazione e uno dei concetti chiave per comprendere la relazione tra le dimensioni dell'eternità e della temporalità, dimensioni che trovano la propria sintesi nell'atto creativo divino. The relationship between the dimensions of eternity and time is one of the main themes of Augustine's thought. The exegetical commentaries of the book of Genesis contain some of the most articolated reflections of the Bishop of Hippo concerning this main theme. In the De Genesi ad litteram, his most detailed commentary of the first book of the Holy Scriptures, Augustine, elaborating a complex methaphysical view of the origin of universe and of God's creative action, uses in a systematic way the doctrine of the rationes causales. The thesis provides an analytical study of the origins, the function and the meaning of this specific doctrine, trying at the same time to frame its employment in the broader context of the augustinian reflection on the relation between the eternal divine essence and the sphere of temporality, that characterizes the creation.
