This thesis studied the trailing vortex development and its characteristics, which are the axial and tangential velocity, core radius and circulation, up to 11 span-lengths downstream. Four different wing-tip shapes at three angles of attack were considered. The tests were carried out in the ILR towing tank by means of the 3C-PIV. The wing-tips presented two flat and two rounded layouts. The trailing vortex was studied up to 11 span-lengths downstream

Abstract
This thesis studied the trailing vortex development and its characteristics, which are the axial and tangential velocity, core radius and circulation, up to 11 span-lengths downstream. Four different wing-tip shapes at three angles of attack were considered. The tests were carried out in the ILR towing tank by means of the 3C-PIV. The wing-tips presented two flat and two rounded layouts. The trailing vortex was studied up to 11 span-lengths downstreamFile in questo prodotto:
