Abstract

In this work, carried out in AIRBUS office in Hamburg within the A350 XWB Development Program, the influence of geometric deviations of the bondline on the strength of a composite stepped bonded joint has been investigated. This finite element investigation takes into account adhesive plasticity and both adhesive and intraply damage. Failure has been implemented for the adhesive using a ductile damage law and for the intraply using a cohesive traction separation law
