The aim of this thesis is to carry out a techno-economic analysis of an anaerobic digestion process of the organic fraction of municipal solid waste integrated with cultivation of microalgae. The economic analysis is used to verify the profitability of a small-scale anaerobic digestion process and evaluate the effect that microalgae cultivation has on its economic viability. The overall plant mass balances are evaluated using the Aspen Plus process simulator.
