Abstract
Silicon resonators are nowadays under an intense research activity due to their advantages such as small footprint and low energy consumption. Among the various applications, they are suitable as optical modulators due to diverse physical phenomena (such as plasma dispersion effect). In this thesis work, the behavior of a ring modulator is evaluated using MATLAB and Lumerical and its physical properties are optimized in order to improve modulation efficiency, energy consumption and footprint.File in questo prodotto:
