Abstract

The important influence of spanwise mixing for throughflow calculations in multistage axial-flow compressors has been investigated. Two different analyses, comparing the results obtained including the mixing action to those from a streamline curvature model developed in Cranfield University and a well-validated CFD numerical model, were carried out for two operating points of NASA Rotor 67. The applicability of the implemented model and its congruity have been investigated and discussed.
