The important influence of spanwise mixing for throughflow calculations in multistage axial-flow compressors has been investigated. Two different analyses, comparing the results obtained including the mixing action to those from a streamline curvature model developed in Cranfield University and a well-validated CFD numerical model, were carried out for two operating points of NASA Rotor 67. The applicability of the implemented model and its congruity have been investigated and discussed.

Abstract
The important influence of spanwise mixing for throughflow calculations in multistage axial-flow compressors has been investigated. Two different analyses, comparing the results obtained including the mixing action to those from a streamline curvature model developed in Cranfield University and a well-validated CFD numerical model, were carried out for two operating points of NASA Rotor 67. The applicability of the implemented model and its congruity have been investigated and discussed.File in questo prodotto:
