Starting from Swiss available biomass potential, different pathways for producing biofuels in the Swiss territory have been analyzed. Furthermore, also the production of biofuels starting from algae cultivated abroad has been taken into account. The biofuels investigated are then used for powering different mid-sized cars when covering one km. At the end of this work is possible to state which is the best environmental choice for powering a certain type of vehicle

Abstract
