The aim of the thesis was to study mono and dinuclear copper (II) complexes, stabilized by an N3O ligands donor set able to (I) chelate copper (II), (II) inhibit the aggregation of amyloid Aβ and (III) to mimic the active site of antioxidant enzymes, and at the same time to show a low tendency to act as oxidizing agents, under physiological like conditions (pH = 7.8). The first part of the thesis was focused on the synthesis of the ligands and the corresponding mono and dinuclear complexes. Afterward, the attention was directed to the study of the Superoxodismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT)-like activity

Abstract
The aim of the thesis was to study mono and dinuclear copper (II) complexes, stabilized by an N3O ligands donor set able to (I) chelate copper (II), (II) inhibit the aggregation of amyloid Aβ and (III) to mimic the active site of antioxidant enzymes, and at the same time to show a low tendency to act as oxidizing agents, under physiological like conditions (pH = 7.8). The first part of the thesis was focused on the synthesis of the ligands and the corresponding mono and dinuclear complexes. Afterward, the attention was directed to the study of the Superoxodismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT)-like activityFile | Dimensione | Formato | |
