Abstract

WE STUDIED THE ECLIPSING BINARY SYSTEM HW VIRGINIS BY USING PHOTOMETRIC DATA. WE REDUCED THE DATA IN THE USUAL WAY AND PERFORMED THE TIME CONVERSIONS. WE EX-TRACTED THE ECLIPSE TIMES AND CONSTRUCTED ON O-C DIAGRAM. WE REPRODUCED THE LITERATURE MODEL AND FOUND THAT IT IS NOT ABLE TO REPRODUCE OUR DATA. ASA FIRST EFFORT TO FIND A NEW MODEL WE USED A GENETIC ALGORITHM TO FIND THE BEST-FIT SET OF SOLUTIONS. WE TESTED THE STABILITY OF THE LITERATURE MODEL AND FOUND IT TO BE UNSTABLE IN SHORT TIME -SCALES
