This Master Thesis aims at measuring the impact of social acceptance-related issue in the design of a CCS infrastructure. A mixed integer linear programming model is developed to optimise the design of a CCS supply chain at the European level, while simultaneously addressing the maximisation of its community acceptance. The goal is to estimate the minimum cost of such network, considering the social behaviour of inhabitants towards the installation and operation of either CO2 pipelines or wells.

Abstract

This Master Thesis aims at measuring the impact of social acceptance-related issue in the design of a CCS infrastructure. A mixed integer linear programming model is developed to optimise the design of a CCS supply chain at the European level, while simultaneously addressing the maximisation of its community acceptance. The goal is to estimate the minimum cost of such network, considering the social behaviour of inhabitants towards the installation and operation of either CO2 pipelines or wells.
