Internal auditing: a comparison between theory and practical applications through an empirical research

This work presents the state of internal audit functions of a sample of six companies located in the North-East of Italy, with a particolare focus on the audit techniques adopted by the functions' responsibles. International literature has been reviewd and comparabled with the results of a survey sent to a sample of chief internal auditors
