An helical rotor blade configuration, made of a NACA 0021 airfoil, is defined and three candidate winglets, characterized by a wingtip extension of 1.00 blade chord, are applied to the geometry. The effects of wingtip on the blade tangential and normal forces are first investigated and then the overall rotor torque and power are analyzed, achieving a numerical quantification of the influence of different winglets design on overall turbine performance, proving the effectiveness of winglets.

Abstract
An helical rotor blade configuration, made of a NACA 0021 airfoil, is defined and three candidate winglets, characterized by a wingtip extension of 1.00 blade chord, are applied to the geometry. The effects of wingtip on the blade tangential and normal forces are first investigated and then the overall rotor torque and power are analyzed, achieving a numerical quantification of the influence of different winglets design on overall turbine performance, proving the effectiveness of winglets.File in questo prodotto:
