One of the most interesting materials discovered in recent years is undoubtedly graphene. It consists of a monatomic layer of carbon atoms which form a planar structure with excellent electrical and thermal characteristics. A derivative of graphene, graphene oxide (GO), is the material that constitutes the semiconductive layer of the transistors analyzed for this thesis. In addition to the characterization of the devices and a series of measures describing their behavior, an innovative electrochemical current reduction technique of the GO was also completed, to make it more conductive and suitable for the purpose. Despite the recent discovery of the material, graphene seems to have interesting properties, in particular it is shown to be able to accumulate both electrons and holes, making it an ambipolar device. Despite this peculiarity, it has not yet been possible to find a specific field of application for these devices, but certainly in the future they will find their space in the electronics industry.
