The present research project is dedicated to the phenomenon of hearing voices, with the aim of exploring, within autobiographical writings of non-psychotic voice listeners, both the modalities of configuration of this experience, and the identity implications that derive from it and how they can transform where the person embarks on a recovery path. Twelve autobiographical stories present in the literature were analyzed through two different qualitative analysis methodologies: thematic analysis and positioning analysis. The results that emerged highlight how, where the phenomenon of hearing voices changes from being configured as a psychopathological symptom to a mode of expression of parts of oneself, the hearers of voices pass from narrating themselves in terms of "mentally ill" to telling themselves in terms of the "complexity and plurality" of the self.
Il presente progetto di ricerca è dedicato al fenomeno dell’udire voci, con lo scopo di esplorare, entro scritti autobiografici di uditori di voci non psicotici, sia le modalità di configurazione di tale esperienza, sia le implicazioni identitarie che ne derivano e come esse possano trasformarsi laddove la persona intraprenda un percorso di recovery. Sono stati analizzati dodici racconti autobiografici presenti in letteratura attraverso due diverse metodologie di analisi qualitativa: l’analisi tematica e l’analisi del posizionamento. I risultati emersi mettono in luce come, laddove il fenomeno dell’udire voci passi dall’essere configurato come un sintomo psicopatologico ad una modalità di espressione di parti di sé, gli uditori di voci passano dal narrarsi in termini di “malato mentale” al raccontarsi in termini di “complessità e pluralità” del sé.
