Abstract

Startups emerge and grow in a highly uncertain environment that makes traditional business development processes difficult to apply. Therefore, proper methods are needed to reduce the high failure rate of new businesses. In this context, the Lean Startup philosophy was born to solve this problem, by giving startups a way to build and grow a sustainable and scalable business without wasting the scarcest resources: time and money. Chapter 1 is devoted to understanding the purpose of the work and the methods used. Chapter 2 summarizes the Lean Startup methodology, with specific reference to the book The Lean Startup by Philosophy founder Eric Ries. Chapter 3 dives into all aspects of the Lean Startup by explaining the Startup Builder incubation path developed by Startup Geeks. In particular, we examine the frameworks and templates created to apply this philosophy to new business development: from validation questions and/or requirements to market entry and fundraising. In Chapter 3, we also implement the framework conditions for the incubation path of the FindT project, a business idea that aims to make the search for products and services in the field of e-commerce simple and straightforward; at the same time, they provide companies with a tools that allow them to understand customers, acquire new customers, and retain them.

Developing an innovative idea with the Lean Startup method. The case study of Findt
