This research work focuses on (the figure of ) the κίναιδος and tries to investigate what it represented mainly for the Greeks, and secondarily for the Latins, starting from the occurrences of the term in literary and scientific texts, in a time span that goes from IV a. C. to the 4th century. A.D. The investigation touches on the themes of the perception of male identity, conveyed by the role of gender, in opposition to the performativity that the κίναιδος implies and the evocations of contempt, mockery and disapproval that it causes.
Il presente lavoro di ricerca verte sulla figura del κίναιδος e cerca di indagare cosa rappresentasse principalmente per i greci, e secondariamente per i latini, a partire dalle occorrenze del termine nei testi letterari e scientifici, in un arco temporale che va dal IV a. C.al IV sec. d.C. L'indagine tocca i temi della percezione dell' identità maschile, veicolata dal ruolo di genere, in opposizione alla performatività che il κίναιδος implica e le evocazioni di disprezzo, irrisione e disapprovazione che fa scaturire.
Corpi che performano? Il κίναιδος, tra disprezzo, irrisione e deplorazione nella civiltà greca (e latina).
