This thesis was set with the aspiration of filling some of the gaps on crisis communication research in the field of political crisis and defence. The thesis is divided into four chapters, with the aim of addressing the topic of crisis communication in Russia, analysed from the contemporary point of view produced by Russian and international researchers, with specific attention devoted to the issues of political crisis communication and defence in situations of terrorism. The aim is to investigate Naval'nyj's case and study how the political crisis it caused, whose climax was identified in the 2020 poisoning, was managed and reported by the Russian media, and, finally, what repercussions it had on the reputation of Vladimir Putin and Aleksej Naval'nyj.
Questo elaborato di tesi nasce con l’aspirazione di colmare alcune delle lacune che la ricerca sulla comunicazione di crisi presenta in ambito di crisi politica e di difesa. La tesi è suddivisa in quattro capitoli, con l’obiettivo di affrontare l’argomento della comunicazione di crisi in Russia, analizzata dal punto di vista contemporaneo prodotto da studiosi russi e internazionali, con specifica attenzione dedicata ai temi della comunicazione di crisi politica e crisi di difesa in situazione di terrorismo, al fine di indagare il caso Naval'nyj e studiare in che modo la crisi politica che ha causato, il cui apice è stato identificato nell’avvelenamento del 2020, è stata gestita e raccontata dai media russi, e, infine, che ripercussioni ha avuto sulla reputazione di Vladimir Putin e dello stesso Aleksej Naval'nyj.
