During the Thesis work, the coordination of tetradentate bis N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-bis(phenolate) and bidentate NHC-phenolate ligands towards Cu(II) metal centers was studied. Products were characterized via ESI-MS, NMR, IR, UV-Vis and elemental analysis. The obtained Cu(II)-NHC complexes were studied as homogeneous catalysts in carbon dioxide valorization reactions such as CO2 cycloaddition with epoxides and formylation and methylation of secondary amines with CO2.
Durante il lavoro di Tesi è stata studiata la coordinazione di leganti tetradentati bis carbenici N-eterociclici(NHC)-bis(fenolato) e bidentati NHC-fenolato verso centri metallici di Cu(II). I prodotti sono stati caratterizzati mediante ESI-MS, NMR, IR, UV-Vis e analisi elementare. I complessi NHC di Cu(II) ottenuti sono stati studiati come catalizzatori omogenei in reazioni di valorizzazione dell'anidride carbonica quali cicloaddizione di CO2 con epossidi e formilazione e metilazione di ammine secondarie con CO2.
