The work proposed in this thesis aims to define a correct characterization of the plantar skin. The interest of this tissue is due to the knowledge of the biomechanics of the foot, a fundamental aspect to prevent and treat pathologies related to the lower limbs. Being, then, that there isn't information on this tissue in the literature, this study aims to fill these lacks. The tests performed include tensile tests and stress relaxation tests to understand and evaluate the nonlinear response and viscous phenomena of the biological tissue under investigation. The study then continued by processing the experimental data to evaluate the anisotropy of the tissue and thus arrive at a complete characterization of the plantar skin.

Abstract
The work proposed in this thesis aims to define a correct characterization of the plantar skin. The interest of this tissue is due to the knowledge of the biomechanics of the foot, a fundamental aspect to prevent and treat pathologies related to the lower limbs. Being, then, that there isn't information on this tissue in the literature, this study aims to fill these lacks. The tests performed include tensile tests and stress relaxation tests to understand and evaluate the nonlinear response and viscous phenomena of the biological tissue under investigation. The study then continued by processing the experimental data to evaluate the anisotropy of the tissue and thus arrive at a complete characterization of the plantar skin.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
