Abstract
An accurate process parameter choice and control is needed to be done to take full advantage of the semi solid metal slurries. The process settings have a big impact on the mechanical proprieties of the alloy. The research purpose of this work it to find a 1:1 correlation between the mechanical proprieties and the Root Mean Square acceleration of the plunger in the High Pressure Die Casting process. The RMS acceleration is a measure of the force transmitted to the melt during injection, and the literature works suggested that for bigger values of RMS acceleration, better performance of the alloy should be achieved. A strong correlation between mechainical proprieties and process parameters would give the possibility to predict the performance of aluminum alloys just by analytic esimations, without the need of physical testing.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
