Sanzioni economiche internazionali: una valutazione degli effetti economici

In this thesis we investigate the effect that the international economic sanctions have on the economy of the targeted countries. In the first chapter we review the the existing literature, the history of sanctions and discuss the method used to conduct the analysis, that is the Synthetic Control Method. In the following chapters we analyse four cases: Iran, Kenya, Nicaragua and Russia to see the effect sorted in their economies and then we draw the conclusion about what has been discovered.

In questa tesi indaghiamo l'effetto che le sanzioni economiche internazionali hanno sull'economia dei Paesi presi di mira. Nel primo capitolo si passa in rassegna la letteratura esistente, la storia delle sanzioni e si discute il metodo utilizzato per condurre l'analisi, ovvero Synthetic Control Method. Nei capitoli successivi vengono analizzati quattro casi: Iran, Kenya, Nicaragua e Russia per vedere l'effetto sortito nelle loro economie e poi trarre le conclusioni su quanto scoperto.
